After Surgery Update

This is an update for after the surgery I had to put a stent into a vein leading to my heart that was pretty much blocked. The good thing is they didn’t have to crack open my chest as was a high possibility. Instead, they were able to go through the groin area, but this did cause a slight issue. The vein they needed to enter was deep and they have to make a nice slice along my groin area to get access to the vein. This resulted in the surgery taking a little longer than normal and stitches in a very uncomfortable place. This has also made it a little hard to walk and sleep and to keep my legs closed as normal.

Most of the time I have to sit with my legs open so as to not cause rubbing and further pain. Also when I sleep I have to put a soft pillow between my legs, pretty much for the same reasons. It is uncomfortable and does cause a lot of pain.

Between the pain of my left leg, both feet and now my groin area the pain is so bad and my Endone (even a double dose) really isn’t doing the trick anymore. I did find a way yesterday to make it work but not something I should be doing. I had a single dose of pain meds and a small glass of Vodka and OJ, put me to sleep, and took away the pain for about 6 hours. But really should not be mixing opioids, benzos, and alcohol altogether. Very dangerous. But for me right now whatever works to get me some sleep and pain relief I am gonna do it until I speak to my Doctor in about a week’s time.

Anyway, that is the news on the surgery. So a quick summary. The stent place was successful after having to cut deep into my groin to get to the main vein and now stitches and a shit load of pain. But at least the chest pains have stopped, for now, I haven’t had one since the surgery when I used to get them every second day and sometimes daily.

Thanks Phil. And yeah I am resting up as much as I can. But the pain from having your groin area sliced open and getting 11 stitches is painful in itself. But just another hurdle to overcome.

How have you been? It’s been a long time since we have caught up.

It always is, I just spend my time constantly working and with the kids :), and I can imagine how irritating it could feel in the groin dude.

You know me though, I always eventually pop by and ask how you are, even after all these years 🙂
