So today turned into one of those days from literal hell to the best thing ever. Let me start at the beginning.
Early this morning I again challenged myself and went out alone to the chemist as my new medication for my psoriasis is in. And the Doctor wanted me to start the injections as soon as they arrived due to the flakes and patches returning so quickly after the Stelara had stopped working after 12 months. It is still nowhere near how bad it was 22 months ago and for decades before that and we don’t want it getting back to that stage.
So I was in Gosford CBD at 7am (by catching an Uber), grabbed a Banana Smoothie and Muffin for breakfast and had an hour til the chemist opened. So I literally just sat there waiting and listening to music. Wasn’t too many people around so I was fine. And whilst I was waiting for the chemist to open a stand opened up near to where I was sitting, which I believe is the Salvos Youth Stall. They had a lot of shirts in the size 4XL which is what I prefer a little baggy. And a couple of the shirts were sleeveless, so good for the gym. And they were literally only a couple of dollars each. So I bought a handful of them, then I found the twilight series books, all in good condition and for only $5, so I bought those too, I totally love my twilight. And also a few other goodies I saw.
After this I had time to have a smoke, have a juice and then the chemist opened. I got my medication and went back to sit at the same seat. I called Aaron from Coast Shelter to see if he had time to come pick me up and drop me off at home, which he did and he came straight down. I had my iPhone X in my pocket. And what I didn’t know was that it had accidentally fallen out of my pocket and went under the table. I noticed it when I got home and I went into a panic state. Some contacted Aaron who rang the phone and a lady answered. Turned out her name was Jackie and she worked at the Newcastle Permanent Bank in Gosford. So, Aaron went straight down and got it and dropped it off to me. He told me what he knew about her. No name, just that she worked at Newcastle Permanent.
At 9am when the branch opened I rang the call center and asked to be put through to the branch manager so I could find out who it was and thank her personally. Turns out she must have mentioned it to her manager as she knew all about the incident and knew exactly who it was. So I spoke to Jackie and thanked her myself. But for me that wasn’t enough.
So, I posted on the Newcastle Permanents Facebook page what she had done and also a post onto the Coasties Bag a Bargain page. That post is below:
And someone that knew Jackie even tagged her in the comments, so she saw and even replied to the post herself. But still I wasn’t happy with that. And as being on a pension and not having much money I spoke to Aaron about what I could physically do to say thank you instead of just words. So, I made her a card from the computer and literally made a hand written note inside and bought her a box of Roses chocolates (yes, a big box of them too). I then went into the branch and gave them to her and had a brief chat. She explained that she was running late and never buys a coffee before hand, but today she did. She was sitting about 2m away from my phone when Aaron rang it and it got her attention due to a music song as my ring tone and how loud it was. She then saw the phone under the other table near her so she picked it up and arranged with Aaron to get it back to me.
Then, when I got home a couple hours later I took my first dose of Iluyma, the new biological drug for my psoriasis. Just a slight headache, same as when I started the Stelara. No other effects or rashes or anything, so that was good. Then I had a lay down from about 3pm until nearly 10.30pm. I was totally exhausted.
I then took some rubbish out to the bins and checked my mail. And to my surprise my Mobility Disabled Parking Card had arrived. It has only been a couple of days and was suppose to take 10 days. But I am not complaining it literally means we can use it tomorrow when we go out to the chemist and shopping and to do a few other things. It is going to make things a LOT easier in many aspects now.
So as you can tell, it has just been one of those days and everything has worked out for the best and I am so grateful. Now I just have to hope that the Iluyma will do its job and take my psoriasis away again too.
